NYC radio station interviews LDRNY's John Scibilia
"The work continues..."
LDRNY Executive Director Dr. John J. Scibilia was interviewed on radio station WLTW (106.7 Lite FM) recently about the work of LDRNY to help those affected by Sept. 11. On the show, called In the Spotlight, the station's David North asked Scibilia how the survivors of Sept. 11 are doing.

"9/11 is still a wound for some, a faded memory for others. LDRNY helps the hidden victims, those who don't have access to mental health care for cultural or financial reasons, or because
they're undocumented and fear asking any official for help. These victims came to the churches first, where the doors were open, since a place of worship would be a place where they'd be safe."
Scibilia mentioned that other disasters like the tsunami, the hurricanes of last fall or the floods that hit Texas right before 9/11, are fading memories for some. "Our neighbors still have needs. Even if we've moved on, they haven't. In NYC, It's not over. It simply isn't." Fortunately, faith agencies like LDRNY place charity in the core set of values in every faith. And with LDRNY, the work continues.
